MAMBO Y CANELA is not just a love story; it is homage to friendship, because it’s precisely the friendship between Canela and Rodrigo that starts this great romantic story. Canela will meet Rodrigo while working as a product promoter amidst the unique world of a group of young women who work in elegant public places or on special national events. Canela is perfect for this job, not only she can convince anyone to purchase the product she represents, but she manages perfectly well and elegantly all those who approach her with dubious intentions. Among her co-workers, Canela has her group of friends: Lolita, the quiet girl with double standards; Candida, who is harsh and verbal; Marite, with her dreams of becoming an actress and Wanda, funny and entertaining and the only mother in the group. They will form the perfect team to fight the envy of the other women, the exploitation of their greedy boss and the indecent propositions of some clients.

Rodrigo works in these types of events as well; he is a photographer who recently started in this medium. He will do just about any job that comes his way: advertising and magazine promotions, baptisms and weddings. However, few people know that Rodrigo is a brilliant systems engineer, the only heir to one of the most powerful families in the country, and that he once held a very lucrative position as executive in one their companies. But Rodrigo suffered a vocational crisis and he made one of the hardest decisions in his life: he gave up this upscale life as a yuppie and took over the only passion he had which was to become a photographer.

Rodrigo is divorced and he lives with a group of fun friends that shared together the tribulations of marriage. They united to support each other during the problems they suffered from their divorces. Nando is a second rate actor who has a frustrated paternity thanks to his ex-wife’s job; Cosme is a chauvinist with a long list of divorces and Saul is the sport oriented guy and the most settled of the group. They share an apartment that Rodrigo’s cousin gave them to rent and they have formed like a “Clan of Divorcees”, a club destined to preserve the dignity, the independence and the bank accounts if its members from the satanic sect of the ex-wives and the want-to-be wives. But destiny will make Canela seek refuge in that apartment and share with this “Clan of Divorcees” who will all be bewitched by her beauty and charm. Canela will become indispensable in the life of these men waking up feelings of jealousy in Vanessa – Rodrigo’s girlfriend – who will rightfully find Canela to be the most dangerous rival.

Soon Canela and her friends will move into the same building that these men live in. This will be the beginning of an unforgettable friendship among this group of people who live under one same roof. It will mark the start to a whole new world of emotional relations that will dwell in camaraderie, love, indifference, flirtation, jealousy and awkwardness. They are all new age people. It is life during the age of the greatest friendships, hot passions and desired love with humor and no frowns.

Rodrigo, regardless of his effort to resist the blistering Canela, will feel more and more attracted to her.
